What’s new in November?

MINECRAFT NEWS: Minecraft took a short recess on November 3rd, but it will be back in all of its blocky glory this Monday, November 10th! From now on, Minecraft Monday is a registration-only program. We think that restructuring the format in this way will allow more kids the chance to have a high-quality gaming experience. Every week has its own registration in our Events Calendar, so click on the day and the session for which you’d like to register. Each will have two sessions: 4:00-4:45 and 4:45-5:30. THURSDAY PROGRAMMING: Miss Courtney’s basket-weaving was a real treat! We had eight children weaving colorful baskets with yarn and paper plates. Kathy Bailey from the Nutfield News was present at this event, so look in next week’s newspaper for photos and a story (we’ll post a link once we have one)! Next Thursday we’ll be celebrating Teddy Bear Week with a special story and craft about the origins of the Teddy bear. Where did the idea for the bear come from, and who was the famous inspiration for those cuddly toys? Come find out and make a cute craft, to boot! The program begins at 3:30pm. Then, come back to the library on Thursday, November 20th for Thanksgiving stories and a craft with Miss Alexis and Miss Nicole. Make a centerpiece to adorn your Thanksgiving table. This program also begins at 3:30pm. STORYTIME EXCITEMENT: Bedtime stories are BACK! The perfect activity for families with working or busy caregivers, this Tuesday night storytime is a great opportunity to visit the library with your kids and hear some lovely stories. Low-key activities and games are included in this half-hour program. Let Miss Alexis read you a bedtime story on Tuesday nights. Children are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a favorite stuffed animal or blankie, and come ready to participate in some bedtime fun. Offered every Tuesday at 6:30pm.
