Ready for the North Pole!

If you were at the library yesterday, you may have seen our Children’s Department buzzing with elfin activity. We celebrated our second annual Elf Training Workshop on Thursday, December 4th. The meeting rooms were decked out in red and green as children went from one activity to the next, perfecting their elf skills. There were SIX fabulous activities that children got to practice: greeting card design, hat making, cookie decorating, toy assembly, ornament creation, and of course, reindeer games. After all that, Santa Claus himself stopped by to give out candy canes to all our hard-working elves! We had songs and stories, too. Phew!  We’re sending out a big thank-you to everyone that made this year’s Elf Training event a success. Check out our photos below and see if there are any familiar faces. 🙂 *As a reminder, there will be no storytime or programming from December 22 until after the New Year. Check this website, along with the DPL’s main page and Facebook, for scheduling updates as January draws closer. We have lots of new things coming your way in 2015, including the return of chess and LEGO clubs! See our “Groups” link above for more details.*
